'Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai': Shivraj Singh Chouhan Roars In Madhya Pradesh After Poll Defeat

Chouhan also hinted at his "earlier than expected comeback" to the treasury benches.

Taking a cue from Salman Khan starrer Bollywood movie Tiger Zinda Hai, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday said that he will be back "sooner than expected".

Speaking to electors in his constituency Budhni, the three-time CM of MP said, "There is no need to worry about what happened to you. I am still here. Tiger abhi zinda hai (Tiger is still alive). Mere rehtey koi aakh uthakar bhi nahi dekh sakta (No one can think of harming you till I am here)".

Chouhan also hinted at his "earlier than expected comeback" to the treasury benches. "Maybe it will not take an entire five years, maybe I will be back sooner than you expect," Chouhan said.

Earlier, taking to Twitter Chouhan wrote, "In Madhya Pradesh, there is no one from here or there. Whoever comes to the state, he stays on here. We don't call Madhya Pradesh the heart of India just like that. Isn't it right?"

His remarks come after the newly-elected Chief Minister Kamal Nath said their government will give incentives to those industries that will give 70 per cent jobs to the locals.

He also said that people from other states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh come to Madhya Pradesh and hence the local people don't get jobs.

Chouhan, who is known for his witty remarks, at many occasions has used one liners to attack the opposition leaders. During his campaign for the 2018 assembly polls in the state, Chouhan had slammed Congress president Rahul Gandhi by referring to a Bollywood song, "Tum to thehre pardeshi, saath kya nibhaoge."

The Congress won 114 seats in the 230-member House. It fell two short of the magic number in a contest with the BJP (109) that went down to the wire.

However, the Congress ensured the support of 121 MLAs with the Samajwadi Party (1), Bahujan Samaj Party (2) and four Independents backing it.
