Premium European cars like BMW, Mercedes, Lamborghini, Audi and Porsche are set to become cheaper in India once the India-EU FTA comes into force, likely next year.
India will offer quota-based import duty concessions, reducing levies to 10 percent for a limited number of high-end vehicles, while protecting cars priced below Rs 25 lakh.
Beyond quotas, EU firms will be encouraged to manufacture in India, aligning with Make in India goals and boosting jobs and technology transfer.
