Press Council Registers Complaint On Forced Closure Of Newspapers in Kashmir

Press Council of India (PCI) Chairman Justice Shri Chandramauli Kumar Prasad has directed to register the complaint sent by Shri G.H. Kaloo, President, Jammu Kashmir Press Association alleging “attack on press” in the valley of Kashmir dispensing with the requirements of filing formal complaint. 

The Chairman also took into consideration the communications made by Council members expressing their concern about the State of affair in Jammu & Kashmir and prima facie being satisfied sought reports within one week from the Chief Secretary, Secretary (Home) and Director General of Police of Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
