Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his greetings on the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.
Modi took to Twitter and extended greetings on the occasion and said, "inspired by the thoughts of Prophet Muhammad, may this day further the spirit of harmony."

Earlier on Saturday President Ram Nath Kovind also greeted the nation on the eve of Milad-un-Nabi.
"Let us learn and get inspired from the life of Prophet Muhammad and work for the well being of all by spreading his message of universal brotherhood and compassion," President Kovind said.

Milad-un-Nabi is commemorated in Rabi'al-awwal, the third month in the religious calendar. On this day, Muslims all across the world celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.
