Police have arrested three of the main accused in the violence in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone city during Ram Navami celebration last month, an official said.
The areas where curfew has been imposed include Udai Mandir, Nagori Gate, Khanda Phalsa, Pratap Nagar, Dev Nagar, Soor Sagar and Sardarpura.
Curfew was clamped in Khargone after the violence on April 10, during which shops and houses were damaged, vehicles torched and stones hurled.
The decision about 24-hour curfew on Tuesday is being reviewed in consultation with people.
