India are well below the 300-run mark as both set batters, Hardik Pandya (87) and Ishan Kishan (82) have departed. Shaheen Shah Afridi showed his quality as his slower delivery did the trick to send back Pandya.

The Pakistani pacers have been relentless with their line and lengths. Shreyas Iyer (14) and Shubman Gill (10) departed early. However, Kishan and Pandya stabilised the Indian innings.

Shaheen Shah Afridi made sure he made the most of the conditions as he sent back India's top two star batters - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Shaheen struck post the rain-session as he castled Rohit (11).

Virat (4) showed glimpses of his class at the crease but he too, fell for Afridi's inswing.

Earlier, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has won the toss and opted to bat first against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 encounter at Pallekele. Babar Azam-led Pakistan have fielded the same playing XI from the first game against Nepal.

For India, Shreyas Iyer is back in the side after being out for months due to injury. Jasprit Bumrah also makes his ODI return.
