SA Vs AUS Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: Australia Opt To Bowl First; South Africa Make Three Changes As Rabada Returns

South Africa make three changes! Temba Bavuma has confirmed that Marques Ackerman and Matthew Breetzke come into the XI, while Kagiso Rabada also returns. Simon Harmer is the only specialist spinner, with Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Verreynne and Tristan Stubbs missing out.

Just moments after the toss, the drizzle has returned, forcing the ground staff to cover the pitch once again. The rain doesn't appear to be particularly heavy, but gloomy skies and a lack of wind are making conditions difficult. With the covers firmly back on, players and fans will be hoping the weather clears soon and allows play to get underway without further delays.

South Africa (Playing XI): Aiden Markram, Marques Ackerman, David Bedingham, Temba Bavuma(c), Matthew Breetzke, Ryan Rickelton(w), Wiaan Mulder, Marco Jansen, Simon Harmer, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje

Australia (Playing XI): Nic Maddinson, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Matt Renshaw, Alex Carey(w), Beau Webster, Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland

Australia have won the toss and opted to bowl first.

The weather is finally looking more promising, with brighter skies and the ground appearing ready for play! Scott Boland is marking his run-up, which could hint at Australia’s bowling plans, while Nathan Lyon’s possible absence remains a talking point. Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje are warming up with the ball for South Africa, as Matthew Breetzke and Corbin Bosch enjoy a kickabout. Australia, meanwhile, are sharpening their fielding ahead of what could be an exciting day of Test cricket.
