The case was registered at Uppal Police Station in Hyderabad based on the complaint lodged by Association Chief Executive Officer, Suneel Kante Bose.

However, Azharuddin has come out fighting against the charges levelled against him by stating them as 'false' and 'motivateed' and said that he would respond to these allegations at an appropriate time.

“I have seen media reports that have reported that FIR’s have been registered against me on complaints by CEO, HCA. I want to state that these are all false & motivated allegations & I am in no way connected with the allegations. I will reply to the motivated allegations against me at an appropriate time. This is just a stunt pulled by my rivals to ruin my reputation. We shall stay strong and fight harder,” he said on X.

In his complaint to the Hyderabad Police, the HCA CEO stated that in view of the earlier reports submitted by various parties to the Telangana High Court, alleging misappropriation of funds, a CA firm was involved in this case in August this year to carry out a forensic audit review for a period of three years prior to Mar 1, 2023.
