Day 13 of the Asian Games 2023 brought both glory and agony to India. It was a day of high ups and downs. India's Men's team won the Hockey gold and men's recurve archery team secured India's first-ever team silver at the Asian Games whereas women's team secured bronze. Badminton star HS Prannoy ended the country's 41-year wait for a second singles medal at the Games. India won only 3 bronze medals on Day 13 when many wrestling matches were scheduled for the day. Bajrang Punia's bout was the biggest upset. Kiran, Aman and Sonam bagged Bronze. Indian Men's Bridge team secured silver and also confirmed at least 100 medals for India. Day 14 is also going to be exciting, many important events are lined up for tomorrow. 7:27 pm: Satwik-Chirag moves on to Finals!
In this game, the Indian duo benefits greatly from a role flip! Chirag takes over in the backcourt while Satwik defends. Chirag finishes the game with four straight smashes.

On Saturday, the World No. 3 Indian duo will meet Choi Soi Gyu/Kim Won Ho of Korea in the final.

India has won the opening game and is one step closer to the final. 21-17, it is.

Keep an eye out... In the men's doubles semifinal, India's favourite badminton combination, SatChi, will face the Malaysian pairing of Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik Soh.

With one round remaining, both India's men's and women's teams stand second on the rankings. The Philippines leads the women's rankings, while China leads the men's.

5:30 pm: Gold In Men's Hockey For India
Harmanpreet strikes the last nail in the Japanese coffin! His team had a 5-1 triumph.

Not only did the team defeat Japan in the final, but it also earned a quota for the Paris Olympics. India ties Korea for the second-most gold medals (four) at the Asian Games. Pakistan maintains its lead with eight medals.

5:22 pm: Hockey Updates: IND 4-1 JPN
Since the last update, both Japan and India have scored a goal, courtesy of Abhishek and Tanaka Seren, with about nine minutes remaining till the final whistle.

5:20 pm: Bajrang will go medalless!
Bajrang is eliminated without a medal as Yamaguchi outruns the Indian. Bajrang sinks his head into the mat for the final takedown. This is not how he anticipated things to turn out. Japan wins by a score of 10-0.

Yamaguchi pulls Bajrang out of bounds twice to gain two points to Japan's score. A single leg hold by the Japanese is later taken down. India is down two points.

Bajrang, the final Indian wrestler in action today, would be looking to finish on a strong note.

5:05 pm: Q3 concludes! India 3-0 Japan
At the end of the third quarter, India is just inches away from a gold medal and a place in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Amit Rohidas was the final player to score from a penalty corner.

5:02 pm: The Indian men's bridge team bags Silver!
Raju Tolani, Ajay Prabhakar Kahre, Rajeshwar Tewari, and Sumit Mukherjee lost to Hong Kong China in the final with a score of 238.1-152. India has improved on its bronze medal from earlier this year.

4:51 pm: Hockey Final - India Lead 2-0
The Indian men are leading Japan 2-0 in the final with 27 minutes still to go. They can sniff the gold medal now. 

4:40pm: Aman Bags Wrestling Medal!
The medals keep coming in wrestling as India's Aman Sehrawat notches up a bronze in the men’s 57kg freestyle category, setting side China's Minghu Liu by technical superiority (11-0). Bajrang Punia will also contest for a bronze medal later in the day.

4:10pm: Wrestling Bronze For Kiran!
Kiran Bishnoi fetches India another medal with a bronze in the women's 76kg category. She beat Mongolia's Ariunjargal Ganbat 6-3.

4:02pm: Men's Hockey - IND Vs Japan Final
Action is underway in the India vs Japan men's hockey final. India are eyeing a gold medal and an automatic qualification fpr the 2024 Paris Olympics. Follow the match on our live blog here.

3:20pm: Medal In Sepaktakraw!
India have secured a bronze medal in sepaktakraw with the regu team losing its semi-final clash against Thailand. This is India's first-ever Asian Games medal at this event. 

2:50pm: Sonam Bags Wrestling Bronze!
Sonam Malilk finishes third in the women's 62kg wrestling category to bag India's fourth medal of the day.

2:19pm: Silver For Men's Recurve Archery Team!
The Korean team prove to be too good for the Indians, who lose 2-6 in the final. Nevetheless, they can keep their heads held high as they have gone where no other Indian recurve archery team has gone before by winning a silver medal at the Asiad.

1:45pm: Kabaddi - IND In Final!
India have beaten Pakistan comprehesively with a 61-14 scoreline and stormed into the gold medal match of the event, where they will meet the winners of the semi-final between Iran and Chinese Taipei.

1:37pm: Recurve Archery - Men's Team In Final!
Taking a cue from their cricket counterparts' win earlier in the day against Bangladesh, the Indian men's recurve archery team have also defeated Bangladesh in their semi-final and assured themselves of a medal. They will face the strong South Korea in the summit clash.

12:54pm: Kabaddi - IND Lead 20-5
India are dominating the early proceedings and have built a healthy 20-5 lead in the first half. Onus on Pakistan now to make this interesting.

12:30pm: Kabaddi - IND Vs PAK SF
The Indian men's kabaddi team are now in action against arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-finals. 

12:28pm: Recurve Archery - Men's Team In SF
The Indian men's recurve archery team has advanced to the semi-finals of the event after beating Mongolia in the quarter-final.  

12:12pm: Badminton - Bronze For Prannoy
HS Prannoy ends with a bronze medal after losing his semi-final in straight games. Prannoy was not his usual self today as he seemed to be battling fitness issues, but neverthless, he will be proud of what he has achieved to earn an elusive men's singles Asiad medal for the country.

11:38am: Badminton - Prannoy In SF Action
After a remarkable come-from-behind win in his quarterfinal yesterday, HS Prannoy is now in action for his semifinal against China's Li Shifeng. The first game is currently tied 14-14.

9:40am: Medal In Women's Recurve Archery!
The Indian women's team comprising Ankit Bhakat, Simranjeet Kaur and Bhajan Kaur has bagged the recurve bronze medal, defeating Chinese Taipei 6-2. This is India's first medal in the event since 2010.

9:34am: Men's Cricket - India Enter Final!
The Indian men's cricket team have registered a thumping nine-wicket win against Bangladesh to enter the gold medal match of the event, where they will face the winner of the Pakistan vs Afghanistan semi-final later in the day.

8:25am: Archery - Recurve Women Lose SF
The Indian women falter in the semifinal against the formidable South Korea, and lose 2-6. They will now play the bronze medal match against Chinese Taipei.  

8:20am: Men's Cricket - IND Restrict BAN To 96
Bangladesh have only scored a paltry 96 runs in the first innings as the Indian spinners have spun a web around them. 16 of the 20 overs were bowled by spinners, and eight of the nine wickets to fall went to spinners.

7:50am: Women's Kabaddi - India In Final!
The Indian women march into the gold medal match with a dominating display. They beat Nepal 61-17 to set up a summit clash against the winner of the semifinal between Iran and Chinese Taipei.

7:33am: Women's Kabaddi - IND 40-12 NEP In SF
The Indian women are leading 40-12 against Nepal in their kabaddi semifinal and are poised to enter the gold medal match.

7:17am: Archery - Recurve Women Enter SF
India win the match 6-2 against Japan to progress to the semifinals, where they will face powerhouse South Korea.
