A 32-year-old manager for a transport business in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur was beaten to death, purportedly on his boss’ instructions. Identified as Shivam Johri, his body was found dumped outside of a government hospital.

In a heart-wrenching video, Shivam can be seen with his hands tied to a pole, mercilessly beaten with an iron rod while he squirmed and cried in pain. He seemed to gradually lose consciousness due to the repeated assault on him on the accusations of theft.

A transport businessman, for whom Shivam Johri worked as a manager, is among the seven people named in a murder case after the assault video went viral, reported NDTV. Bankim Suri and Neeraj Gupta, two notable businessmen of Shahjahanpur have been accused of murder in the case.

Shivam's body was abandoned at a medical college and hospital Tuesday night. His family was told that Shivam had died of electrocution, as per the police. However, upon examination of the body by a police officer in the hospital, injuries inconsistent with the claim of electrocution were found by him, which led to a probe.

Investigations revealed that Shivam had been an employee of transport businessman Bankim Suri for the past seven years. A package of a prominent business, Kanhiya Hosiery recently went missing, on account of which several employees were assaulted on the suspicion of theft. The owner of Kanhiya Hosiery, Neeraj Gupta, is also among the seven accused in the murder case.
