22-Year-Old Man Brutally Stabbed In Northeast Delhi In Apparent Act Of Old Enmity

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in northeast Delhi's Nand Nagri area, a 22-year-old man became the victim of a brutal stabbing, allegedly due to an old enmity. The shocking episode was captured on video and has now gone viral on social media platforms. The footage depicts the assailant mercilessly attacking the defenseless victim lying on the road, before making a hasty escape from the scene.

The incident came to the attention of the authorities when a distress call was received at 10:37 pm on Thursday. The caller, identifying himself as the victim's brother, informed the police about the stabbing and revealed that the injured individual had been rushed to GTB Hospital. The wounded man, identified as 20-year-old Kasim from Sunder Nagri, is currently in a drowsy state and has not provided a statement to the police. Consequently, he has been referred to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for further medical attention.

Law enforcement officials have wasted no time in taking action against the alleged perpetrator. The accused, 22-year-old Sohaib, a resident of Sunder Nagri, has been apprehended by the police. A case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the motive behind the attack stems from a previous enmity between Sohaib and Kasim. Approximately two years ago, an altercation occurred between them, during which Kasim purportedly punched Sohaib in the face, resulting in eye damage and a nasal defect. This physical altercation left a lasting impact on Sohaib, nurturing a deep-seated resentment towards Kasim.

The distressing incident took place late at night in a public space, drawing attention to the alarming lack of intervention by bystanders. Despite the presence of witnesses, no one came forward to assist or prevent the brutal assault. Shockingly, the viral video captures the assailant wielding a large knife and ruthlessly striking the victim's left elbow, causing a disturbingly bent angle. Amidst the chaos, a distraught woman rushes to the victim's side, frantically crying out that her son has been killed. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 pm.

Prompt medical intervention saved the life of the victim, Qasim, who was expeditiously transported to the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Fortunately, his condition is now stable, and he is expected to recover.
