Dr. Sumita Misra, IAS is a senior Indian Administrative Service officer currently serving as Home Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary overseeing the Home, Jails, Criminal Investigation, and Administration of Justice Departments in the Government of Haryana. Since assuming office in December 2024, she has led key initiatives in law enforcement and justice administration, and in July 2025 was appointed the state’s nodal officer for the 2007 Census, coordinating efforts across departments.
