SHINee's Min-ho and renowned K-drama actor Lee Dong-wook have been chosen by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the inaugural Global Ambassadors for the 'OlympicTM Friends' initiative.
The initiative aims to use public figures to promote Olympic values - excellence, respect and friendship. Both of these celebrities will start doing promotional activities for the event this month. The 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics, the first Asian Winter Youth Olympic Games, are scheduled to take place from January 19 till February 1, 2024, aiming to provide more opportunities for the younger generation to take part in different events to celebrate peace and unity via sports.

About Dong-wook, Min-ho
'Tale of the Nine-Tailed' actor Lee Dong-wook was previously named the honorary brand ambassador for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics earlier and SHINee's Min-ho's selection for the Olympics is thought to be a great choice because he has a track record of supporting a variety of national, regional, and international sports organisations and events. They will represent the 4th Winter Youth Olympic Games, which are scheduled for the Republic of Korea's Gangwon province in 2024, as ambassadors.
