'Gadar 2' First Look: Sunny Deol Lifts A Cartwheel As Tara Singh In The First Glimpse

Gadar 2 also brings together director Anil Sharma and the original distributor Zee Studios. The film features Sharma's son, the actor Utkarsh Sharma, who had appeared in 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' as the child of the characters played by Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.

Actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will return together to the big screen after 20 years in the sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the top-grossing blockbuster that was released in 2001. 

ZEE Studios recently shared their line-up of releases for the new year, which features multiple projects starring actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Yami Gautam among others. The line-up ended on a high note, as we finally got to take a glance at Gadar. At 0.42 seconds, Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) is seen lifting a heavy cartwheel to fight baddies. This moment has become the most-watched part of the video.

The plot of Gadar 2 has been kept under wraps. The original film was loosely based on the tragic love story between British Indian Army World War II veteran Boota Singh and a young Muslim woman named Zainab against the backdrop of the Partition.

2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha 2001 was a romantic period action drama film directed by Anil Sharma and set during the Partition of India in 1947. Loosely based on the life of Boota Singh, the film stars Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel in lead roles alongside Amrish Puri and Lillete Dubey. Sharma's son Utkarsh as a child artist plays Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel's son, before his first film as an adult, another Sharma directorial Genius (2018).
