International School Of Sustainability, First Cohort Joins At The United Nations, Bangkok

The International School of Sustainability (ISOS) has successfully launched its first cohort, bringing together students from St. Paul's School, Gorakhpur (SDG Aware School) for an immersive learning experience focused on sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), global citizenship and youth leadership.

An initiative of House of MOSAIC, an SDG ecosystem builder working to scale SDG awareness and literacy across India and globally, the International School of Sustainability is a travelling, immersive and experiential learning school. It brings students from schools and colleges into real-world sustainability environments, giving them hands-on experience with the SDGs, sustainability competencies, environmental awareness, leadership skills, and global exposure through high-impact educational programmes, international trips, conferences, and interactions with global institutions.

The first ISOS cohort in partnership with St. Paul's School, Gorakhpur, took students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 on a 3-day educational trip to Bangkok, Thailand, to participate in the United Nations Conference Centre on 3 August 2026.

The programme was designed around three key learning experiences: Learning at the United Nations, where they attended the International Forum for Sustainable Futures conference, engaging with keynote addresses, panel discussions, and global conversations on sustainability, climate action, biodiversity, youth empowerment, and the SDGs. The students also unveiled 'The Living Campus', a book compiled by the student delegates on biodiversity and nature conservation efforts at their campus and by their school community.

Learning from IUCN - the cohort was invited to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Asia Regional Office. Students had the opportunity to interact with Mr Dindo Campilan, the Asia Regional Director at IUCN, and learn about IUCN's work, vision, and global efforts in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Dr Campilan encouraged student delegates on everyday practices that can make them nature-positive while also being sustainable.

The SDG Hour - the third pillar of the programme was an immersive learning session designed specifically for the ISOS cohort. Students explored cross-cultural sustainability lessons and essential sustainability skills and competencies for the future, and developed a roadmap to continue their sustainability journeys beyond the programme.

The first ISOS cohort marks the beginning of a larger vision to create a generation of globally connected young sustainability leaders. Through its travelling model and immersive learning courses and resources, the International School of Sustainability takes students beyond the classroom into global forums, UN centres, international institutions, sustainability conferences, innovation hubs, and real-world learning environments.

With its first successful cohort, the International School of Sustainability is now preparing to welcome its next batch in October 2026, expanding opportunities for students from across India to learn, travel, connect and lead on the global sustainability agenda. ISOS is also preparing to launch its school-level and college-level certificate courses on the SDGs, climate action, environmental awareness, innovation for impact, biodiversity conservation, leadership for sustainable development, and more. The initiative is built on the belief that SDG education must go beyond classrooms; it must build the knowledge, skills, networks, and competencies required for young people to solve real problems, contribute to addressing global challenges, and partner with global agencies.
