The Supreme Court has imposed pre-telecast ban on episodes of ‘UPSC Jehad’ of Sudarshan TV’s Bindas Bol programme on alleged infiltration of Muslims in bureaucracy. For its part, the Centre said if the court decides on media regulation, digital media should be taken up first as it is totally ­“uncontrolled” and “unregulated”.

Five Indian Institutes of Information Technology, set up in public-private partnership mode in Surat, Bhopal, Bhagalpur, Agartala and Raichur, may begin awarding degrees soon. ­Parliament passed a bill declaring them ­“Institutions of ­National Importance”. It now awaits the President’s assent.

Skeletal remains of four people killed in the 2013 Kedarnath cloudburst and flash floods have been found during a search launched following the ­Uttarakhand High Court’s order. Their DNA samples will be matched with family members of over 3,000 people who went missing.
