The Ashes: Ben Stokes Trolls Australian Media Report Calling England Team 'Cry Babies'

Australian newspaper The West Australian took a shot at the England team for the Jonny Bairstow controversy that erupted during the 2nd Ashes Test at Lord's.

England Test captain Ben Stokes took to Twitter to respond hilariously to a newspaper report that labelled the England team as 'cry babies'. The news article carried a picture of Stokes dressed as a baby in nappies lying beside a cricket ball and the Ashes urn.

The report comes amid Jonny Bairstow's dismissal by Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey, who ran the batter out after he casually left the crease after a Cameron Green delivery during the 2nd Test at Lord's.

Since the conclusion of the Test match, both teams have shared diverse opinions on the chapter, with England coach Brendon McCullum even saying that it will be difficult for them to share a beer with the Aussies.

"Poms take whingeing to a new level with 'cheating drivel," a line read in The West Australian newspaper.

Stokes' eye caught the article and he did not wait much to respond to the article with sarcasm.

The southpaw, who struck a brilliant 155 in the fourth innings of the 2nd Test, tweeted, "That's definitely not me, since when did I bowl with the new ball".

England are trailing 0-2 in the five-match Test series. The third Test will be played at Leeds from July 6-10. The home team will need to win the all the remaining games to regain the urn.
