Champions League: Ronaldo Hat-Trick Scripts Juventus Comeback, Man City Demolish Schalke

In the two remaining last 16 return leg fixtures, England's Liverpool visit Bayern Munich in Germany while Spain champions Barcelona host French side, Lyon tonight

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spectacular hat-trick to help Juventus reverse a two-goal deficit and beat old rivals Atletico Madrid in Italy, while Manchester City demolish visiting German side Schalke 7-0 on early Wednesday morning as Italian and English champions enter UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

In Turin, the former Real Madrid star scored two headers (27' and 49') either side of half-time and a late penalty (86') as Massimiliano Allegri' side entered the last eight at the expense of visiting Spanish side, which won the first leg 2-0.

Scoring his eighth hat-trick in the competition, the Portuguese ended the campaign of Diego Simeone's side which is known for churning out defensive masterpieces.

Three goals in front of a jubilant Allianz Stadium crowd propelled five-time Ballon d'Or winner's Champions League tally to 124.

In Manchester, Pep Guardiola's City produced a virtuoso performance to score seven goals in less than an hour as they completed an enviable 10-2 aggregate score after the first-leg result of 3-2.

Argentine Sergio Aguero opened the scoring with a penalty conversion in the 35th minute, then doubled the score three minutes later. German Leroy Sane made it 3-0 at 42.

Raheem Sterling (56'), Bernado Silva (71'), Phil Foden (78') and Gabriel Jesus (84') completed the rout. Foden, 18, became City's youngest Champions League goalscorer.
