Another silver for India! Naorem Roshibina Devi has gone down 0-2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the women’s sanda 60kg final, with the Indian losing both rounds 0-5.

It is Roshibina’s third Asian Games medal and her second consecutive silver, following her silver at Hangzhou 2022 and bronze at Jakarta 2018. Zhang came into the final after an impressive run that included a win over 2023 world champion Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy of Vietnam.

Roshibina had also lost her previous Asian Games final in Hangzhou to another Chinese opponent, Wu Xiaowei.

India are off the mark on Day 5! Satnam Singh and Salman Khan have won the bronze medal in the men’s double sculls, clocking 6:13.25 in the final. The Indian duo were in second place at the 500m, 1000m, and 1500m marks, staying within half a second of China’s Yi Xudi and Nie Yide, but were edged out in the final stretch.

China won gold, while Uzbekistan’s Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov and Pavel Sorin took silver. Satnam also adds a second Asian Games bronze to his collection after being part of India’s bronze-winning men’s quadruple sculls team at Hangzhou 2022.
