India vice-captain Tilak Varma stated that batting at No. 5 or 6 requires a mindset shift toward seeking a boundary off his very first ball if available.
He explained that if an immediate boundary option isn't there, his focus shifts to taking the game deep using singles, doubles, and gap-finding.
Tilak emphasized taking responsibility to guide non-strikers and attack death-over bowlers as India aims for a 5-0 T20I series sweep in Auckland.
