Manchester City thrashed Exeter City 10-1 in their third-round FA Cup match. Pep Guardiola’s men brought up their first win of 2026 in style, as seven different players added their names on the scoresheet and Rico Lewis netted a brace. George Birch scored a consolation goal, though arguably the finest goal of the night, for the Grecians. 

Play is underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs kicking from right to left and Aston Villa the other way in the first half. There's an early injury as Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara has to limp off the pitch in the seventh minute, following a mistimed challenge from Joao Palhinha. Youri Tielemans replaces him.

At the Marrakesh Stadium, Nigeria have blanked Algeria 2-0 in their AFCON quarter-final clash. Star striker Victor Osimhen shines with a goal and assist, to help propel the Super Eagles into the semis. As for Algeria, this is the fifth quarter-final exit in their last seven AFCON knockout appearances.

A superb team move, and Emiliano Buendia finishes it off! Aston Villa go ahead with some lovely, common-sense football in the final third. Donyell Malen eventually sets it up for Buendia, whose shot zooms into the top of the net past Guglielmo Vicario. Spurs under early pressure.

With less than 10 minutes to go in the first period of this third round, it has been Aston Villa's half so far through and through. The Villans hold majority of the ball, while having double of what Spurs' have managed as shots on target. The home side suffered another setback as Richarlison had to come off with a knock, with Kolo Muani taking his place.

Drama before the break! Substitute Kolo Muani thought he had put Spurs ahead three minutes from half-time, but he is flagged for offside and the goal is overturned. Brilliant link-up play between Gray and Simmons, though, which will be good signs for Thomas Frank.

Three minutes into the five minutes of stoppage time, and Morgan Rogers doubles Villa's lead. Buendia turned provider this time, linking up with Malen before playing a deft back-heel pass for Rogers. The Villa forward takes a coupels of steps inside before firing low and hard past Vicario with his left.

The referee blows his whistle to get the second half underway on their home ground. They are two goals down at the break, but Thomas Frank has opted against making any half-time changes, as has Unai Emery.

Lifeline for the home side as Spurs pull one back through Odobert. Kolo Muani has looked threatening after the restart, and the substitute uses his physicality to overpower Bogarde. The Frenchman then makes a darting run up the pitch before feeding it to Odobert, who makes no mistake with his finish past Bizot.

Villa make a doubel change. Malen is brought off, and on comes Watkins as Emery looks for a third goal to settle this tie. McGinn is brought off as well, with Jadon Sancho replacing the Villa captain. Meanwhile, Buendia earns adds a yellow card to a goal and assist for clumsily pulling Gray.

Aston Villa come close to restoring their two-goal advantage. Sancho combines with Cash on the right flank, with the Polish right-black playing a cross towards Buendia. The midfielder has a scuffed effort towards the goal that beats Vicario but is cleared off the line by Porro.

Incredibly, Spurs have another goal ruled out for offside! This comes moments after a double change for Villa, who brought on Digne and Garcia in a bid to refresh their pace down the flanks.

Simons, meanwhile, is played through by Kolo Muani. The Dutch midfielder does well to make his way into the box before firing past Bizot. However, the flag goes up against him.

The four minutes of added time flies by in a flash. Despite late pressure from Spurs, Aston Villa manage to hold on to seal the win. Tottenham improved by leaps and bounds in the second half, but the Emi Buendia show in the first half was too much for the home side to overcome.
