Group B Finale: Switzerland Top The Table, Canada Sneak Through Despite Defeat
Switzerland vs Canada Match Gallery, FIFA World Cup 2026: Switzerland clinched the top spot in Group B with a thrilling 2-1 victory over co-hosts at BC Place in Vancouver. The Swiss broke the deadlock in the second half through a clinical finish by Ruben Vargas, before substitute Johan Manzambi doubled their lead with a header. Canada mounted a fierce late comeback, fueled by a late goal from Promise David, but the Swiss defense held firm until the final whistle. Despite the loss, Canada still made history by progressing to the Round of 32 on goal difference. In the other Group B finale in Seattle, Bosnia and Herzegovina kept their own knockout hopes alive by defeating Qatar 3-1. Early goals from Kerim Alajbegovic and a Sultan Al-Brake own goal set the tone, and despite Hassan Al-Haydos pulling one back, Ermin Mahmic sealed Qatar's elimination while leaving Bosnia sweating on third-place rankings.
