The final World Cup warm-up begins as both sides look to build momentum in an entertaining friendly encounter.
A dream start for La Roja! Pau Cubarsi spots the run and delivers a brilliant ball into the attacking third. Mikel Oyarzabal takes control before unleashing a thunderous left-footed strike that gives the goalkeeper no chance. The net ripples and Spain take the lead inside the opening two minutes, making it 1-0 in emphatic fashion.
The referee pauses play for a scheduled cooling break with Spain holding a deserved 1-0 lead. La Roja have controlled possession for most of the opening stages, moving the ball confidently and limiting Peru's opportunities in the final third. Peru, meanwhile, will use this pause to regroup and adjust their approach as they search for a way back into the contest. The next few minutes could be crucial as both sides return refreshed and ready to push for the next goal.
The hosts double their advantage and it's a beautifully worked move. Ferran Torres whips in a dangerous cross from the flank, and Pedri times his run to perfection, sneaking in behind the defense before poking the ball past the goalkeeper from close range. Peru are caught flat-footed as Spain's attacking quality shines through once again. It's now 2-0, and La Roja are firmly in control after another slick attacking sequence.
The referee brings the first half to a close with Spain firmly in control at 2-0. Goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedri have given La Roja a comfortable advantage after a dominant opening 45 minutes. Peru showed flashes of intent and tried to push forward on several occasions, but struggled to create any clear-cut chances against a well-organized Spanish defense. Spain have looked sharp in possession, controlled the tempo, and made their opportunities count, leaving Peru with plenty of work to do after the break if they are to get back into the contest.
Spain restart the action with several changes at the break, bringing fresh energy into the side as they look to build on their comfortable 2-0 lead. Peru, meanwhile, need a strong response to get back into the contest.
Spain have their third of the night and fortune is on their side this time. Yéremy Pino bursts into the box and drives a dangerous ball across goal, looking to pick out a teammate. Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese reacts quickly and gets a hand to it, but the touch only makes matters worse as the ball loops into the back of the net. A cruel own goal for Gallese and Spain extend their lead to 3-0, putting one hand firmly on the result.
Peru finally have a reward for their efforts and it's a well-worked goal. Marco Lopez delivers a perfectly weighted pass that splits the defense, sending Jairo Velez through on goal. With only David Raya to beat, Velez keeps his composure and slots the ball into the net with a clinical finish. The visitors pull one back and reduce the deficit to 3-1, giving themselves a glimmer of hope for the remainder of the match.
The referee blows for full time and it's a convincing 3-1 victory for Spain in their final World Cup warm-up match. Goals from Mikel Oyarzabal, Pedri, and an own goal from Pedro Gallese proved enough to seal the win after a dominant display. Peru showed plenty of fight and pulled one back through Jairo Vélez in the second half, but they were unable to create the comeback they needed. A professional performance from La Roja, who head into the World Cup with confidence and momentum after an impressive all-round showing.
