Spain Vs Austria, FIFA World Cup 2026: Mikel Oyarzabal's Brace Seals La Roja's Round Of 16 Spot
Spain vs Austria, FIFA World Cup 2026 Match Gallery: Spain marched into the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Austria at Los Angeles Stadium on Friday. After dominating much of the first half, La Roja finally broke through when Mikel Oyarzabal tucked away Marc Cucurella's cross in the 36th minute, moments after the full-back had seen a goal ruled out. Austria came out with renewed intent after the break and almost found an equaliser through substitute Sasa Kalajdzic, but the striker's header drifted over the bar. Pedro Porro then gave Spain breathing room with a well-timed header from Alex Baena's cross before Oyarzabal grabbed his second of the night late on, capping off another flowing move. The comfortable win keeps Spain's unbeaten World Cup campaign intact and sends them into the last 16, where either Portugal or Croatia await.
