The 78th edition of the Santosh Trophy started on November 14 with 35 teams fighting for nine final-round spots. After 51 matches at nine venues across India, the nine group winners have joined hosts Telangana, holders Services and last edition's losing finalists Goa for the final round.

The 12 teams have been divided into two groups of six each, and the top four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.

GROUP A: Services (2023-24 Champions), West Bengal (Group C winners), Manipur (Group D winners), Telangana (Hosts), Jammu and Kashmir (Group A winners), and Rajasthan (Group I winners).

GROUP B: Goa (2023-24 Runners-up), Delhi (Group B winners), Kerala (Group H winners), Tamil Nadu (Group G winners), Odisha (Group F winners), and Meghalaya (Group E winners).

West Bengal are record 32-time champions but they last won the title in the 2016-17 edition. They have also finished runners-up a record 14 times. Punjab, the second most successful side with eight wins in 16 finals, have failed to qualify for the final round for the second successive season. This time, they lost out to Jammu and Kashmir.

All the final round matches until the quarter-finals will be played at the Deccan Arena. The GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium will host the semi-finals and the final.

The Santosh Trophy 2024 matches will be streamed live on the SSEN app. SSEN (Shrachi Sports Endeavour Private Limited) has signed a commercial rights agreement with the All India Football Federation to produce and broadcast domestic football matches for the 2024-25 season.

The deal for 338 matches will cover I-League, I-League 2, Indian Women's League, Santosh Trophy, and Rajmata Jijabai Trophy (for Senior Women's National Football Championship.

Sony Sports Network, meanwhile, will broadcast 110 I-League matches during this period.
