Hello and welcome to everyone who has joined us for some hot FIFA Club World Cup action. We will bring to you the build-up as well as live updates from the matchday 3 group F clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Fluminense.
The game will kick off at 12:30am IST. The Mamelodi Sundowns vs Fluminense, FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match will be live streamed for free on the DAZN website in India. It will not be televised on any TV channels in the country.
This is how the two teams line up for tonight's encounter:
The Sundowns are attacking from right to left and Fluminense from left to right in the first half. The South African champions come close to scoring in the sixth minute, as Lucas Ribeiro Costa's left-footed shot from outside the box is saved by Fluminense goalie Fabio.
Meanwhile, at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Borussia Dortmund are yet to score against Ulsan HD, who have been confined to defence owing to a dominant BVB in the first half. Ulsan are already out of knockout contention, but Dortmund need to win to seal their berth from Group F.
Four minutes of added time in the first half. We are still goalless at the Hard Rock Stadium, with either team having missed chances.
And that brings the first half to an end in Florida. Dortmund have scored against Ulsan, which means that unless the South Korean side finds an equaliser in the second half, the victor of the Sundowns vs Fluminense clash will seal a round of 16 spot. A draw would make the Brazilians upstage the South Africans, however.
The players return to the pitch and the second half begins. Sundowns now attacking from left to right and Fluminense from right to left. Remember that the Sundowns must win to progress, as a draw or defeat would push Fluminense ahead of them in Group F.
The Brazilian club comes close to breaking the deadlock as German Cano hits the right post in the 58th minute. Soon after, Sundowns make a couple of substitutions: Mosa Lebusa replaces the injured Keanu Cupido and Arthur Sales comes in for Tashreeq Matthews.
The last cooling break of the game comes to an end and the two teams resume play, trying to give their best shot in the final 15 minutes. The game is yet to see a goal and if, when it comes, it would likely be the winning strike that sends the respective side into the knockouts.
We still await a goal in this encounter after 88 minutes. Meanwhile, Fluminense's Colombian midfielder Jhon Arias is booked and so is Facundo Bernal.
Dortmund beat Ulsan 1-0 in the other Group F game and advance to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 knockouts. Mamelodi now need a goal in these dying minutes to try and force their way into the top two. A draw will do it for Fluminense.
After eight minutes of added time, the hard-fought clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Fluminense finally ends goalless. It's the Brazilian club which progresses to the round of 16, finishing second in Group F with five points. Borussia Dortmund top the group with seven points and Mamelodi Sundowns have to miss out, pegged third with four points.
