English Premier League, Saturday Goal Rush: Kick Off!

The three 7:30 PM matches in the English Premier League 2025-26 are underway! Stay tuned for live updates from the Saturday Goal Rush games.

  • Bournemouth vs Wolves

  • Brentford vs Aston Villa

  • Burnley vs Sunderland

Bournemouth Vs Wolves, English Premier League 2025-26: Tavernier SCORES! | 4' BOU 1-0 WOL

What a start from Bournemouth. After coming close through Munestsi just a moment ago, it's Tavernier who scores the first goal for the Cherries. Semenyo plays the ball to Tavernier, who has a shot from inside the box that takes a deflection off Agbadou and then hits to cross-bar to go past Jose Sa. Talk about a lucky break, but it's nothing more than Bournemouth deserve.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Ballard Injured! | 9' BUR 0-0 SUN

Daniel Ballard's night is over. The Irishman was struggling for some time after a challenge early on in the match, and finally goes down. Jenson Seelt replaces him. This is a big blow for Sunderland, who have dominated the match so far.

Brentford Vs Aston Villa, English Premier League 2025-26: Outtara SCORES! | 12' BRE 1-0 AVL

What a debut for Dango Outtara, with the Burkinabe forward picking up a rebound in the box and then finishing past Martinez. Fox in the box instincts from the new signing, and Bretford take the lead.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Goal Overruled! | 18' BUR 0-0 SUN

Lyle Foster thought he put Burnley ahead with a brilliant finish, but hold on... there's a VAR check. The referee listen to his headset and confirms NO GOAL! Instead, it's a free-kick to Sunderland for a foul during the build-up.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: 31' BUR 0-0 SUN

Hume does well to win the ball on the wings, and then plays a terrific cross into the Burnley box, but Dubravkra does well to collect it from thin air. Sunderland are dominating the attacking play, with two big chances created so far.

Meanwhile, Ki-Jana Hoever goes off for Wolves against Bournemouth, having suffered a knee injury. Jackson Tchatchoua comes on in his place.

Brentford Vs Aston Villa, English Premier League 2025-26: Damsgaard Goal Overruled! | 43' BRE 1-0 AVL

Brentford double their lead right before half-time, with Mikkel Damsgaard scoring past Martinez with a stunning finish. But hold on, there's a VAR check going on!

And you'd know what, the goal is chalked off for a foul during the build-up! Brentford's advantage back to 1-0.

Bournemouth Vs Wolves, English Premier League 2025-26: Half Time! | BOU 1-0 WOL

It's half time at the Vitality Stadium, and Bournemouth have a slight advantage courtesy of a fifth-minute strike from Marcus Tavernier.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Half Time! | BUR 0-0 SUN

Other than Foster's disallowed goal, not relaly much noteworthy in a goalless draw in the first half at Turf Moore. A lot of fight from Sunderland, but their finishing has been questionable tonight.

Brentford Vs Aston Villa, English Premier League 2025-26: Half Time! | BRE 1-0 AVL

After 10 minutes of injury time, the half-time whistle goes off at the Gtech Community Centre. The hosts are a goal up at the break, but could have been two goals up if the referee did not overruled Damsgaard's goal. The Dane was adjudged to have interfered with Martinez before the ball went in, and it seemed like a harsh but fair call after watching the replays.

English Premier League, Saturday Goal Rush: Second Half Underway!

Two of the matches - Burnley vs Sunderland and Bournemouth vs Wolves - are underway with the second half! Brentford vs Aston Villa also back a couple of minutes later.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Cullen SCORES! | 47' BUR 1-0 SUN

Anthony plays a terrific back-pass in front of the box to set up the ball for Josh Cullen. The Burnley captain takes the ball and hits it with his right foot, and it flies past Roefs to give the home side the lead. There's a lengthy VAR check for offside, but the goal stands.

In the match between Bournemouth and Wolves, the visitors are down to 10 men in the 49th minute as Toti Gomes sees a straight red! Already one goal down, and now a man down.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: 57' BUR 1-0 SUN

More than two minutes of delay in the match due to... flickering floodlights. You couldn't make it up, really. Turf Moor turned into a disco for a few minutes as the lights turned on and off, before someone had the good sense to switching them off, resulting in the match to resume.

Earlier in the Brentford vs Aston Villa game, Buendi almost scored for Aston Villa with a bicycle kick that went over the bar. Much more positive from the Villans in the second half.

Bournemouth Vs Wolves, English Premier League 2025-26: 70' BOU 1-0 WOL

Two quick saves by Jose Sa to keep Wolves in the game. The first one is a shot from Semenyo, following a peach of a cross by Christie, that the Portuguese goalkeeper grasped on to.

The second save is even better, as Adli plays the ball back to Evanilson, who crosses it towards Adams. The USMNT footballer tries to curl one in, but Sa makes a diving save to put it behind.

Meanwhile, Lesley Ugochukwu comes off for Burnley against Sunderland after going down with an injury. Josh Laurent replaces him.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: 78' BUR 1-0 SUN

Sunderland come close to an equalier as Roberts makes a run from the left flank, cutitng into the box before trying to find Isidor, but Esteve gets there in the nick of time to clear the danger. Roberts goes down in pain, and receives attention from the physio.

Aston Villa make a curious change in their match against Brentford, substituting first-half substitute Emi Buendia with 15 minutes left to play.

Meanwhile, Kluivert came close to doubling Brentford's lead with an effort from 25 yards out, but the effort bounces in front of Sa and then goes wide.

Bournemouth Vs Wolves, English Premier League 2025-26: 88' BOU 1-0 WOL

Kluivert has another golden opportunity to increase Bournemouth's lead. The hosts have a free-kick in a dangerous area, and the Duthc forward shoots a curler that looks destined to be goalbound, but it hits the wall and goes out for a corner instead.

Bournemouth make a double change, with James Hill and and Eli Junior Kroupi coming on.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Anthony SCORES! | 88' BUR 2-0 SUN

A brilliant counter attack from Burnley, with Jaidon Anthony being freed by a terrific first-time pass from Cullen. The winger beat the offside trap and then calmly finishes with his left over a hapless Roefs. Scott Parker is very happy on the touchline, and rightfully so.

Bournemouth Vs Wolves, English Premier League 2025-26: Full Time! | BOU 1-0 WOL

It's all over at the Vitality Stadium, and Bournemouth win their first game of the Premier League season, with Marcus Tavernier's fifth minute goal enough for the victory. Toti's red card dashed any hopes for a Wolves comeback, and Andoni Iraola would have expected his side to score more against 10-men opponents. It's three points in the bag, and that's what matters for the Cherries.

Brentford Vs Aston Villa, English Premier League 2025-26: Full Time! | BRE 1-0 AVL

Keith Andrews seals his first win as Brentford manager after an opening-day loss. New signing Dango Outtara scored just 13 minutes into his first half. The Bees were superb with their defending as well, with just two of their 17 shots on target. Vital points at home for Brentford, this.

Burnley Vs Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Full Time! | BUR 2-0 SUN

It was the Josh Cullen show tonight at the Turf Moor, with the Burnley captain getting a goal and an assist to seal a comfortable 2-0 win against a Sunderland side that destroyed West Ham in their opening match. Jaidon Anthony flicked the ball towards Cullen for the first goal, and Cullen repaid the favour later by setting up Anthony to slot in the second.
