Chelsea secured a dominant 3-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Sunday, 13 July 2025. A starring performance from Cole Palmer, who scored twice and grabbed an assist, secured the Blues the first trophy of the expanded Club World Cup.

Palmer delivered a player-of-the-match performance, finding the bottom corner after a dashing run by Malo Gusto. The former Manchester City forward scored again eight minutes later with a mirror image of the opener to double Chelsea’s lead.

Palmer then turned into a playmaker, finding Joao Pedro’s run into the box. The Brazilian, who has been a new signing from Brighton, chipped over Gianluigi Donnarumma to find the back of the net.

PSG’s performance improved in the second half of the Club World Cup final, with Vitinha and Desire Doue coming close but being denied by a superb Robert Sanchez. The goalkeeper made six saves to keep Chelsea’s lead intact, earning the Golden Gloves award for himself.

A strong defensive performance from the Blues sealed the trophy for Enzo Maresca’s side, and the manager later said that his side had won the tie “in the first 10 minutes”. A late red card for Joao Neves, who pulled Marc Cucurella down by his hair, which meant the Parisians played the last five minutes and stoppage time with 10 men.
