The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team were well and truly tested for the first time in this ICC T20 World Cup 2026. After conceding a target of 187, India's batting line-up faltered under pressure and were swept away for just 111 runs.

This has raised questions marks on India's title charge in this T20 World Cup. Not only did the Men in Blue drop 2 points, but their net run-rate has also suffered big time.

A massive blow for the Windies as Richard Ngarava gets the wicket of Brandon King with a perfectly disguised slower ball. King tries to adjust and pull the short-of-length delivery, but he picks out Tashinga Musekiwa at deep backward square with pinpoint accuracy.

West Indies are on a roll here at Wankhede courtesy of Shimron Hetmyer's blistering fifty off 19 balls. Heymyer took on Zimbabwe skipper for 20 runs in the 8th over to get WI to a rollicking start.

Another chance goes begging as Tashinga Musekiwa drops Hetmyer for the second time in the match. The could be devastating as Heymyer is batting at full flow with 72 off just 28 balls.

Graeme Cremer finally dismisses Shimron Hetmyer but he has already done the damage, blasting 85 runs off just 34 balls. Sherfane Rutherford joins Rovman Powell in the middle.

West Indies have been powered into 200s through Sherfane Rutherford's blistering 9-ball 20 runs. He has now been joined by Romario Shepherd and together these two will form a threatening partnership.

Romario Shepherd has been dismissed after a sensational cameo, smashing 21 off 10 with three sixes.

West Indies have posted the second highest total in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup. The Windies are two runs away from 250. It will not be a realistic target for Zimbabwe to chase and that will not only hurt the Africans but also the Indian team.

The West Indies have set a mammoth target at the Wankhede, finishing their 20 overs at 250/6. Shimron Hetmyer led the carnage with a breathtaking 85 off just 34 balls, supported by Rovman Powell’s explosive 59.

Despite Richard Ngarava's early breakthrough, Zimbabwe faces a record-breaking mountain to climb.

Zimbabwe have walked out to bat as they set their sights on chasing a gigantic target of 255, the second highest total in the history of the T20 World Cup.

Tadiwanashe Marumani is off to a flyer tonight and this is exactly the kind of start that Zimbabwe needed but Matthew Forde bags his wicket against the run of play.

Marumani had no balance in that attempted flick and the length delivery takes a leading edge and lands safely on Shimron Hetmeyer's hands.

Zimbabwe are three down in no time at all and it's Akeal Hosein's off-spin that does the work. The left-armer first clean bowled Brian Bennett and then removed Ryan Burl for a 2-ball duck.

Gudakesh Motie strikes in just his very first over to end Dion Myers’ dangerous cameo. It was a classic left-arm spinner’s dismissal, the ball gripped, turned sharply, and completely squared Myers up on the defence.

The Windies are ruling with the ball as well. Total domination.

Two in two for Motie. The left-arm spinner has been dominating right from the start of his spell. It was a peach of a delivery on length and ripped past Musekiwa’s defensive stance to clean the stumps. After a tough day in the field dropping Hetmyer, Musekiwa’s misery ends with a golden duck. Motie was also on a hat-trick, couldn't complete it but Zimbabwe are in total freefall.

The West Indies claimed a dominant 107-run victory over Zimbabwe at the Wankhede. After posting a historic 254/6, the Windies' bowling attack was clinical, dismantling Zimbabwe for 147. Gudakesh Motie (4/28) and Akeal Hosein (3/28) led the surge, handing Zimbabwe their first defeat of the 2026 tournament.
