While West Indies prepares to take on Italy, Australia might miss out on LA Olympics 2028 if New Zealand make it to the semifinal and beyond. Reports have suggested that six teams of LA Olympics will be decided based on ranking after the T20 World Cup and Australia's group stage elimination will not help them at all.

Brandon King and Shai Hope are in the middle, with King set to face the first delivery. JJ Smuts has the new ball and will begin the proceedings.
Ali Hasan strikes with his very first ball! Back of a length and shaping in, Brandon King gets a faint inside edge. Italy review and UltraEdge confirms it, Gian Meade takes the catch. King gone for 4, West Indies rocked early.
After the over: West Indies 7/1 (2)
Big over for West Indies. Hope starts with a crisp four through point, stays watchful for a few balls, then drills another boundary through extra cover. To finish, he launches one over long-on for six.
14 from the over, West Indies 31/1 after 4 overs, Hope 25(15).
Thomas Draca delivers a key breakthrough as Shimron Hetmyer departs. Hitting a hard length and getting just enough movement, Draca forces the mistake, and Italy grab the catch safely. Hetmyer’s short stay comes to an end, and West Indies lose their second wicket just as they looked to build momentum. Italy right back in the contest.
WI 43/2 (5)
Shai Hope reaches a well-crafted half-century! Smuts tosses it up and Hope leans forward, driving it calmly down to long-off for a single to bring up his fifty off 28 balls. A composed knock under pressure, and he acknowledges the applause as Roston Chase walks down for a congratulatory handshake. The crowd rises in appreciation.
WI 63/2 (8)
Steady over building towards a big finish. Hope and Chase rotate strike early with a couple of singles, but the bowler keeps it tight through the middle with disciplined lines and dot balls. Just when it looks like a quiet end, Hope steps up, picks the length early and launches the final ball over the ropes for a clean six.
Eight from the over, West Indies 84/2 after 11 overs, Hope cruising on 62(37) with Chase settling in alongside him.
Ben Manenti strikes to break the partnership. Floated up invitingly, Roston Chase makes room and goes for the big hit towards deep mid-wicket, but doesn’t get the distance. Anthony Mosca settles under it near the boundary and takes a safe catch. Chase departs for 24 off 25, a scratchy knock comes to an end.
WI 96/3 (13)
Ben Manenti strikes again. Rovman Powell looks to go big, flicking it high towards deep square leg, but it goes straight up. Crishan Kalugamage settles under the skier and holds on safely, though he seems to have hurt his hand on landing and walks off for treatment. Powell departs for 9.
WI 115/4 (15)
Massive breakthrough for Italy as Crishan Kalugamage castles the set batter. Tossed up full, Shai Hope goes for the slog sweep but misses it completely, the stumps are rattled. End of a superb knock of 75 off 46, packed with boundaries. He walks off to applause as West Indies lose their fifth.
WI 117/5 (16)
Crishan Kalugamage strikes again. Fired in flatter outside off, Jason Holder goes for the flat-batted hit down the ground but doesn’t get enough on it. Harry Manenti judges it well at long-on and completes a safe reverse-cup catch. Holder departs for 9, and Italy pick up another timely breakthrough.
There was a six earlier in the over, but Kalugamage keeps his composure, conceding just nine runs and grabbing the key wicket. West Indies 138/6 after 18 overs, Rutherford on 14 with Forde newly in.
Eventful final over to close the innings. It begins with a wide down the leg side, gifting an extra, before Forde follows up with a couple of well-run twos to keep the scoreboard ticking. The pair rotate strike with a single, but the bowler pulls things back with back-to-back dot balls under pressure. Rutherford finishes it smartly, finding the gap for another brace to squeeze out valuable runs at the death.
Eight from the over, West Indies finish on 165/6 after 20 overs, with Forde 16(8) and Rutherford 24(15) providing the late push.
Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca are out in the middle, with Justin taking strike. Akeal Hosein has the ball and is set to begin the innings.
Forde bangs it in on a hard length and gets it to nip back sharply into Justin Mosca. Cramped for room on the back-foot push, Mosca leaves a gap between bat and pad, the ball sneaks through and crashes into the top of off stump. Cleaned up for 2. Italy lose their first at 12/1.
Anthony Mosca had taken on Hosein brilliantly, launching two clean sixes and keeping Italy’s momentum alive. But Hosein has the last word. Slows it up, drifts it into the right-hander, and Mosca shuffles across for the sweep. He doesn’t get the elevation and picks out short fine leg perfectly. Shamar Joseph takes a simple catch.
Mosca departs frustrated for 19 off 12 after a quick cameo. Italy 26/2 after 3 overs - entertaining, but both Moscas now back in the pavilion.
Good length outside off, Syed Naqvi looks to force the drive but doesn’t time it. The ball flies off the lower half high over mid-off, and Shamar Joseph backtracks calmly to complete a safe catch. Naqvi departs for 6 off 10 after struggling to get going.
Harry Manenti walks in and defends his first ball watchfully. Just four runs and a wicket in the over - Italy slip to 37/3 after 6 overs, Forde impressive with 3-0-17-2
Joseph shortens the length and extracts extra bounce outside off. Harry Manenti sees the width and throws his hands at it, but only manages a thin outside edge. Shai Hope completes a neat catch behind the stumps. Manenti goes for 8, and Italy lose their fourth.
Ben Manenti walks in and defends his first ball solidly. Just three runs and a wicket from the over - Italy 57/4 after 9 overs, West Indies tightening their grip.
Full and straight, Grant Stewart backs away to go downtown but hits it straight to long-off. Jason Holder settles under it and takes a safe catch. Stewart’s quick 12 off 7 ends just as Italy were trying to build momentum.
There were two boundaries earlier in the over to keep hopes alive, but Joseph breaks through at the right time. Gian Meade gets off the mark with a single to close it.
Ten runs and a wicket - Italy 104/6 after 15 overs, still needing something special from here.
Full and wide outside off, Gian Meade throws his hands at the drive but hits it straight to cover-point. Shamar Joseph makes no mistake and even celebrates with a little jig. Meade gone for 4, and Italy slide further.
Just two runs and a wicket in the over as Forde keeps it tight at the death. Singles for Draca and Kalugamage to close it.
Italy 117/8 after 17 overs, Forde outstanding with figures of 4-0-19-3.
Shamar Joseph finishes things off in style, inducing a thin outside edge from Ali Hasan as Shai Hope completes the catch behind the stumps to bowl Italy out for 123. Earlier in the over, Joseph had removed Thomas Draca with a full toss that was checked and deemed legal before Roston Chase pouched it at backward point. West Indies seal a comprehensive 42-run victory to maintain their unbeaten run, with Joseph capping a remarkable outing, 4 wickets and 4 catches in the same T20 innings.
