Virat Kohli's Test retirement has triggered a massive wave of tributes from all over the sports fraternity. People are acknowledging his batting greatness as well as his captaincy genius that made India arguably the best red ball team in the world under his tenure. While he did not get a farewell game, his fans decided to turn up in whites at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during Saturday's match against Kolkata Knight Riders. This was to be a tribute to the legendary Test career of Kohli.
However, rain intervened and it did not go away until the match was abandoned. Some RCB fans felt nature was crying because Kohli had left Test cricket.
Another interesting incident happened during the wait for the game. A group of white birds flew over the Chinnaswamy Stadium amid all this rain. The group of white pigeons became a huge talking point on social media with users sharing the picture and calling it a tribute to the great career of the former India and RCB captain.
The match between the two sides was abandoned and that pushed KKR out of the race to the play-offs. The share point also meant RCB are now the table toppers but GT and PBKS will both get a chance to displace them on Sunday.
