Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer's 87 drove Madhya Pradesh to 244/5. Maharashtra and Chandigarh dominated Goa and Kerala respectively on Day 1.
Group C: Sudeep Chatterjee's century, followed by Abhimanyu Easwaran's 81, helped Bengal get to a comfortable 340/4 against Services. Railways troubled Gujarat, bowling them out for 175 and finishing the day on 77/2. Swapnil Singh shined for Tripura against Uttarakhand and Assam struggled against Haryana.
Group D: Mumbai were rescued by Sarfaraz Khan and Siddhesh Lad as they produced a 249-run partnership and when stumps was called, Mumbai reached 342/4 against Hyderabad. Jammu and Kashmir bowled out Pondicherry for 233. Delhi scored 216 against Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, Pukhraj Mann's century took Himachal Pradesh to 314/4.
