It was a turner from Ferreira, and Salman Agha charges down the ground and hits it straight over the head of the bowler for a six, and reaches his half century in 56 balls. A very good innings with calculated risks, and if he bats through, Pakistan will likely seal this match with ease.

Despite the lack of boundaries, Pakistani batters have kept on stealing quick singles, with the scorecard slowly ticking towards the 234-run target. After Rizwan's departure, Salman has held on well, currently batting at 41 off 51.

Pakistan's danger man Rizwan goes! Will there be a turn in the tale for the Proteas? Rizwan, who was looking on song tonight, tries to big again, but the power isn't there behind the shot. Pretorius at deep square leg takes a diving catch. Hussain Talat is the new batter.

A couple by Rizwan off Fortiun, and he completes a resolute half-century. Coming in when Pakistan were deeply in trouble, he has anchored the innings so far alongside Salman Agha, and the gallery shows their appreciation for Rizwan for what is his 17th ODI fifty.

Rizwan is nearing a well-deserved half-century. Even after being frustrated by Williams, the Pakistani batter wraps up the over with a cracking boundary in between extra cover and mid-off. Excellent timing from Rizwan, and Pakistan need 89 runs at a rate of just over five-an-over.

After a bit of quiet, the runs have started to come again, with at least one couple of fours in the last three overs taking Pakistan's total over the 150-run mark. 112 runs needed more for the win. South Africa need to break this partnership soon.

A couple of boundaries aside, the last five overs have been clinical from South Africa, who are hitting the lengths hard and forcing Rizwan and Salman on the defensive.

Bosch, especially, has targeted the stumps well, and there was a massive shout for caught behind against Salman. However, the umpire is not impressed, and de Kock signals 'pads'. Salman punishes him with a boundary off the very next delivery.

Just when things were looking merry for Pakistan, they find themselves three down with 106 on the board. Babar Azam (7) latest batter to walk back as Proteas weave their magic and look to make inroads. 264 looks far off now after these three wickets for Pakistan.

Wow, just wow! Fakhar Zaman is the latest batter to walk back to the pavillion. Fakhar Zaman dances down the track and holes it straight to Fortuin. Proteas are right back in the contest. Two new batters at the crease for Pakistan.

South Africa finally have a wicket, in the form of Saim Ayub as the destructive batter is dismissed LBW by Donovan Ferreira for 39. However, the hosts are still in driver's seat and Proteas need much more moments like these, to have a say in the match.

South Africa bowlers have no answers to the Pakistan openers in the run-chase of 264. SA skipper has introduced Lizaad Williams into the attack but with conditions still placid for batting, it will take some miracle for the visitors to get back into this game.

Pakistan are motoring along nicely in the run-chase of 264 against South Africa. The home team require more 197 runs to win and have ten wickets in hand.

After a quiet couple of overs, Fakhar and Saim break the lull with a couple of boundaries. The former then wraps up the first powerplay with a piledriver six over long-on off Ferreira, and Pakistan cross the 50-run mark. The required rate is a bit over 5.2.

Saim has been the one to get going in the early stages, punishing two loose deliveries from Williams for four. A couple of tight overs since then, resulting in just two runs, and it has been a steady start for the hosts.

Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are Pakistan's openers in this 264-run chase. Ngidi has the new ball for South Africa, and he almost drew first blood, with Fakhar's hard-hit shot almost finding the grasp of the backward point fielder. Just two from the opening over.

A slower delivery from Naseem, and William has no choice but to swing his bat at it. He misses, and the stumps go flying. That's South Africa's innings done for 263 – a far cry from the solid start given to them be Pretorius and de Kock.

Bosch's late-innings flurry comes to an end as he gets his stumps knocked out by a yorker from Shaheen. The balls hits the bottom of his bat and onto the wickets. Lizaad Williams is the new batter.

Bosch knows he has to take charge and go big if South Africa want to post a competitive total. Four boundaries in the last two overs, and the Proteas are almost crossing the 250-run mark.

Another delivery from Abrar, hitting Fortuin plumb on the pads. The googly turned inwards and beat Fortuin's defence, and the umpire's finger goes up. South Africa review, but ball tracking shows the ball hitting the leg stump. Lungi Ngidi is the new batter, and Abrar is on a hat-trick.

Breetzke is gone! After scoring his 500th ODI run (in seven innings, a joint South African record), he tried to hit Abrar off the park. However, the placement is off, and it goes to Nawaz at deep extra cover. Breetzke misses a fifty for only the second time in his short ODI career. Bjorn Fortuin is the new batter.

After 43 deliveries without a boundary, Bosch relieves the pressure with a well-timed sweep off Nawaz that races to the boundary ropes. Breetzke adds another with a lucky outside edge that goes past slip and for four more runs.

What a massive respite for Breetzke. Naseem's pace beats his defence, and the stumps go flying. But... Naseem Shah had overstepped, which means it's a no ball!

The Pakistani pacer has the last laugh, dismissing Linde for just two. Another quicker devliery, and the turn gets a nick off Linde's bat. Absolute catching practice for Rizwan.

South Africa's middle order collapse continues, and Donovan Ferreira is the latest one to go. It was a frustrating knock ODI debut for him, and he was baited to take the big shot by Abrar. However, the turn means that the ball connected with the toe-end of the bat, and it's an easy catch by Babar Azam at long-off.

With a new batter on the other end, Breetzke continues his targeting of Abrar, pulling another poor delivery over mid-wicket for a six. The next over is a tighter one, but Ferreira brings up South Africa's 200 with a single.

Nawaz gets the breakthrough, breaking the partnership before it could become dangerous. Qeshile looked to hit a cut, but the spin beats his bat and gets a thick outside edge that is caught by Fakhar. Donovan Ferreira is the new batter.

After struggling to get going for a while, Breetzke finally frees his arms. He gets a freebie from Abrar, absolutely thumping a flighted ball over long-on for a massive, massive six. Qeshile joins in, ending the 33rd over with a boundary.

With the run rate stagnating, Qeshile opens his arms to drag Shaheen Afridi's outside off delivery for a boundary. South Africa need more of those if they want to recover their stunning start.

That's three down for South Africa, as Tony de Zorzi is caught and bowled by Saim, who gets his second wicket of the night. Very poor shot selection from the Proteas batter, and the turn gets an inside edge which flies back to the bowler. Sinethemba Qeshile comes on as the new batter.

Pakistan had pegged down the run rate in the last couple of overs, and the pressure gets to de Kock. The veteran tries to defend a back of the length delivery, but he plays it against the angle, and the inside edge hits the stumps. Matthew Breetzke is the new batter.

Playing his first ODI after a gap of two years, de Kock sweeps Saim for a boundary towards short fine leg and reaches his half-century in 50 deliveries. A terrific innings this is turning out to be for the Proteas, who will likely be looking at a 300+ total at this rate.

So disappointing from Pretorius, who was looking like he was on for a big score tonight. A flighted delivery from Saim, and Pretorius attempted to slice at it. However, he only manages an outside edge, and Nawaz takes a terrific catch at point. Pretorius goes 57 on his ODI debut.

Pretorius attempted to reverse sweep a fuller delivery from Abrar. He missed, and it hit him plumb on the pads. There's a huge LBW shout from the Pakistani players, but the umpire is unmoved.

Pakistan immediately review, and UltraEdge shows a deflection off the gloves. Terrific read by the umpire.

A dream ODI debut for Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who reaches his half-century in 45 balls, becoming the 11th South African batter to achieve this feat. He has made de Kock play second fiddle – not an easy thing to do!

De Kock, who has been a bit quiet considering his lofty standards, charges down the crease and smacks Abrar for a six over long off. The next delivery almost leads to Pretorius being run out, but a dive and a poor throw saves him.

The South African batter welcomes Salman Agha with a boundary off the first ball of the 10th over, and then follows it up with a massive six over mid-wicket. A couple of really good overs for SA as the first Powerplay comes to an end.

13 runs in the last two overs, with the South African openers hitting three boundaries. The run rate remains just over five-an-over. As a result, Pakistan have turned to spin, bringing on Salman Ali Agha.

After Pretorius punished Naseemm Shah with a sublime cover drive that raced away for a four, it's de Kock's turn. The veteran batter ends an otherwise tight over from Shaheen Afridi by flicking a fuller delivery past towards the square leg for a boundary.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Quinton de Kock are South Africa's openers . The former has opened his account against Pakistan's new-ball wizard Shaheen Shah Afridi, and the visitors are three-for-naught.
