India Women vs South Africa Women, ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 Final Highlights: Harmanpreet Kaur's Team India scripted a historic 52-run victory over South Africa to lift their maiden ICC Women's ODI World Cup trophy. It was an inspiring performance from the Indian side which defended the second highest total of a Women's World Cup final. Laura Woolvaardt had won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Women in Blue got off to a flying start through Smriti Mandhana (45 off 58) and Shafali Verma's 104-run opening stand. The latter was very close to scoring her maiden ODI century but narrowly missed out by 13 runs as she departed for a score of 87 off 78. Harmanpreet Kaur (20) and Jemimah Rodrigues (24) had a quiet outing. Deepti Sharma scored a crucial half-century and Richa Ghosh smashed 34 off 24 towards the end to set up a target of 299 for South Africa. In response, Laura Woolvaardt started strongly with a 50-run partnership with Tazmin Brits, who was sent back for 23 through a brilliant run-out attempt by Amanjot Kaur. Anneke Bosch went out for a 6 ball duck, Marizanne Kapp - South Africa's pillar in the middle-order had a forgettable outing as well, getting out for 4 by Shafali Verma, who was also responsible for the wicket of Sune Luus. While the Proteas kept losing wickets, Woolvaardt held on from the other end and scored her second century of the World Cup and also had a 61-run partnership with Annerie Dercksen, who was castled by Deepti Sharma for 25 runs. India then went on to quickly pick the remaining wickets of Chloe Tryon (9), Nadine de Klerk (18) and Ayabonga Khaka (1) to clinch a memorable 52-run victory in Navi Mumbai. Shafali Verma became the youngest player of the match awardee for India across genders in a World Cup final or semi-final. At 36 years and 239 days, Harmanpreet Kaur becomes the oldest captain to win the Women's ODI World Cup. Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma became the player of the tournament for scoring 215 runs and collecting the most number of wickets (22). IND-W vs SA-W Final Live Score, Women's ODI World Cup 2025: What did Harmanpreet Kaur said?

We would’ve bowled first as well, given the weather and conditions. But yeah, it’s an important game, and somehow it feels like we’re back in rhythm. Hopefully, we can bat freely and put up a strong total on the board. This one’s a little sticky (pitch) because of the rain and the overhead conditions. The outfield is slightly damp too, but I think after five or six overs it should settle down nicely. We’ll try to do the same things again - play with intent, stay positive, and back our plans. We spoke about that game that night, enjoyed the win, and then had two days to recover and reset. Everyone’s back focused now, and we’re really looking forward to this game.

IND-W vs SA-W Final Live Score, Women's ODI World Cup 2025: What did Laura Wolvaardt said?

Yeah, a bit of rain around, so it just feels like a nice day to chase later with a bit of movement on offer. The surface looks pretty good, and hopefully we can get a bit of swing early on with the rain we’ve had over the last couple of hours. But yeah, looks like a really good wicket overall. Definitely, we haven’t played here before, but I think we’ve been pretty good at adapting throughout the tournament.

Hopefully our bowlers can quickly assess conditions and make the most of it today. We’re unchanged today. Definitely. It’s a big day for us, but we’re just really excited about the opportunity. It’s very special playing in front of a crowd like this, so we’ll just look to enjoy every moment. Yeah, we’ll take the positives from that, but it all starts from zero again today. We’ll have to start fresh, but the confidence in the group is high and we’ve been playing some really positive cricket.

I had to play according to the situation today and I enjoyed my role with both bat and ball. I think Laura played a very good innings. But we were not relaxed anywhere. We were very calm. We were always cheering each other up, whatever drinks break or other break we were getting we we using that time to discuss plans. And as a batting unit, we were talking that we have to go till the last ball. And as a bowling unit, we have to focus more on our best ball. And we did the same thing. We have won the World Cup. There have been a lot of changes since 2017. And I would like to say that the number of matches and the standards have gone up. I just wanted to say that I would like to dedicate this trophy to my mom and dad."

"I said in the starting that God has sent me to do something good. And today that was reflected. And I am very happy that we finally won the World Cup. I can't express it in words. It was difficult but I had confidence in myself. That I will believe in myself. And if I keep myself calm, I can do anything. So that belief and that calmness and my parents had a lot of support. My parents, my friend, my brother. I think everyone had a lot of support. Everyone used to tell me how to play. And how important this final is for me, for the whole team. So today I was only thinking about how to make a run. The team should win. Yes, absolutely. My mind was clear today. And I went and worked on my plans. I am so happy that they got executed. And along with that, the team was talking to me a lot. Harman was always a supporter. And I think everyone supported me a lot."
