Australia and England recorded resounding victories in their respective Test matches to trigger a major reshuffle in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 standings. In Kingston, Australia demolished the West Indies by 176 runs in the third and final Test of their series, bundling the hosts out for a mere 27 runs — the lowest total ever recorded by West Indies in Test cricket.

Mitchell Starc produced a sensational spell under lights at Sabina Park, taking 6 for 9 in 7.3 overs, while Scott Boland claimed a memorable hat-trick — the first ever in a pink-ball Test — to help Australia complete a 3-0 series sweep.

Australia On Top Of WTC Standing

The commanding win ensured that Pat Cummins’ men remained unbeaten in the WTC cycle so far, maintaining their top position on the table with a perfect record: three wins from three matches, 36 points, and a 100% points percentage (PCT).

The WTC shake-up had already begun a day earlier at Lord’s, where England edged past India by 22 runs in a gripping contest to go 2-1 up in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The victory propelled England from fourth to second on the WTC table. Ben Stokes’ side now has 24 points and a PCT of 66.67, level with Sri Lanka but ahead on match wins.

Sri Lanka, with a win and a draw from two games, sit third with 16 points. India, after their narrow defeat at Lord’s, slipped to fourth, with just one win from three matches and a PCT of 33.33. Bangladesh follow in fifth place with 4 points and a 16.67 PCT from their two matches.

The West Indies, after their horror collapse against Australia, sit sixth with zero points and a PCT of 0, having lost all three of their games so far.

NZ, Pakistan, SA Yet To Kick Off

Three teams — New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa — are yet to kick off their campaigns in this WTC cycle, leaving the bottom of the table unchanged for now. Australia, who now look firmly on course to defend their WTC crown, will resume their Test journey in November when they host England for the 2025–26 Ashes.

The five-match series is set to begin at Optus Stadium in Perth (November 21–25), followed by Tests in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney, setting the stage for another high-stakes chapter in Test cricket’s most storied rivalry. India will next face England in the fourth test at Old Trafford starting from July 23.
