Maharashtra NCP Row: Sharad Pawar In Delhi For Party Meeting; Supriya Sule Says 'All Is Well'

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar has reached Delhi to attend party's National Executive meeting. Amid the NCP tussle, yesterday in Mumbai, two different meetings of the party were called by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

Amid the spiralling political tension in Maharashtra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar has reached Delhi where the party's National Executive meeting is scheduled for today.

“All is well and all will remain well,” said NCP working president Supriya Sule as she, along with party chief Sharad Pawar, arrived at Delhi airport for the party's national executive meeting today.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) removed the posters and hoardings of the NCP presient on Wednesday morning.

Yesterday's meeting of the two factions in Mumbai

Yesterday in Mumbai, two different meetings of the party were called by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

According to sources, as many as 32 of the 53 Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs attended the meeting called by the Ajit Pawar group, while 18 MLAs were present at the conclave addressed by the NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

It has been reported that, in the meeting, Sharad Pawar criticised his nephew Ajit Pawar for joining the Shiv Sena-BJP government as they took jibe at each other over the former's age and use of his photo.

The Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar camps of the NCP held their meetings in Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in south Mumbai and at Mumbai Educational Trust (rpt Mumbai Educational Trust) in suburban Bandra, respectively.

Surrounded by party workers, including 32 of NCP’s 53 MLAs, Ajit Pawar, who took oath as deputy CM on July 2 along with eight other leaders who also joined the Eknath Shinde government, reminded his 83-year-old uncle that it was time for him to retire from active politics.

Congress to hold meeting as well

Besides NCP's national executive meeting in Delhi, Maharashtra Congress is also scheduled to convene a meeting of Congress Core Committee today in Mumbai.

The meeting will be chaired by the party's state president Nana Patole.

Discussions on Opposition Leader and the current political situation in the state as well as the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in the meeting.
