Haryana Home Minister Announces Arrest Of 202 People In Connection With Communal Clashes

The clashes, which led to six fatalities, have triggered a swift and decisive response from the authorities, vowing to ensure justice is served and security measures are heightened across the districts.

In a press conference held on Friday, Haryana's Home Minister Anil Vij made a startling revelation about the recent communal clashes in the state. A significant breakthrough has been made, with 202 individuals being arrested and 80 others taken into preventive detention in connection with the violent incidents that shook several districts, including Gurugram, Faridabad, and Palwal.

Minister Vij, emphasized that anyone found guilty of inciting violence would not escape the clutches of justice. Investigations into the clashes are ongoing, and 102 FIRs have already been registered, half of which are concentrated in the Nuh district, raising concerns about the intensity of the situation there, as PTI reported.

The Friday namaz, which has been a focal point during these turbulent times, was discussed at length by Minister Vij. He revealed that he had personally communicated with the deputy commissioners of Nuh, Faridabad, and Gurugram to ensure that adequate security measures were in place. What's more, high-level discussions with the chief secretary were held to strategize robust security arrangements throughout Haryana, regardless of the location of the Friday namaz gatherings.

However, amidst the security preparations, a surprising development emerged when certain clerics issued a call to offer namaz at home. The Minister expressed his apprehension about this development and urged religious leaders to maintain calm and adhere to the security protocols for the safety of all citizens.

In a shocking turn of events, a cybercrime police station in Nuh became the target of an attack during the clashes. Minister Vij didn't mince words and asserted that the incident was being taken very seriously. Investigators are diligently working to uncover the identities of those responsible for the attack and the motives behind their actions. The potential destruction of crucial records has raised alarm bells among the authorities.

Tragically, the clashes resulted in the loss of six lives, including two home guards and a cleric. This incident has sparked nationwide concerns about communal harmony and the need for swift and decisive action to prevent further escalations.

Addressing the growing concern over the role of social media in exacerbating tensions, Minister Vij shared that a dedicated committee has been established to monitor and scan online platforms for any incendiary content. He passionately appealed to the public to refrain from sharing provocative posts and misinformation that could further inflame the situation.
