2 Bihar Advocates File Petitions Against Udhayanidhi Stalin For His Controversial Remarks On Sanatan Dharma

An advocate from Muzzafarnagar and another in Patna filed petitions against the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam youth wing secretary and Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his controversial statements on Sanatan Dharma.

Two petitions were filed in Bihar courts against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin for the latter's controversial comments on Sanatan Dharma.

Alleging that Udhyanidhi Stalin's comments had hurt 'Hindu sentiments' a Muzaffarpur-based advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed the petition before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Pankaj Kumar Lal on Monday.

Ojha, who remains in the news for his petitions against political bigwigs and other celebrities, has sought the trial of the Tamil Nadu CM and his son, who is also a cabinet minister, under sections of the Indian Penal Code. The matter has been posted for hearing on September 14.

According to PTI, advocate Kaushalendra Narayan also filed a complaint in a court in Patna against Udhayanidhi Stalin over his controversial remarks on Monday.

What did Udhyanidhi Stalin say?

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam youth wing secretary and Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had alleged on Saturday that Sanatan Dharma is against equality and social justice, and had likened it to coronavirus, malaria, fever caused by dengue virus and mosquitoes.

His remarks evoked sharp reactions from the BJP across the country, with some leaders alleging that it was a call for genocide and others demanding that Udayanidhi be booked for treason.

Udhayanidhi rubbished the genocidal claim and said his speech was a pointer to social evils.

How did BJP leaders react?

A delegation of the BJP led by its Delhi unit President Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Harsh Vardhan and Parvesh Verma visited the Tamil Nadu House to offer a protest letter addressed to CM Stalin.

"Congress leaders are spitting venom against 'Sanatan Dharma'. They talk about 'mohabbat ki dukan'. We want to ask Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, is this their 'mohabbat ki dukan'?" reportedly said Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.

.Union Minister Prahlad Patel told PTI, "Whenever there has been an attack on the 'Sanatan Dharma' and Hindus, the Congress and the opposition have kept mum. The silence of people like Rahul Gandhi and (Arvind) Kejriwal proves that this is part of a conspiracy."
