Trump urged, in a social media posting on Tuesday, Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” as the five-day Israel-Iran conflict continues to escalate.
Further asserting the US knows where Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is hiding, Trump said, "We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
United States President Donald Trump met with his national security team in the Situation Room, according to a White House official quoted by CNN.
The meeting took place as President Trump is considering whether the US should get directly involved in Israel's war against Iran after days of urging Iranians to return to negotiations, as per BBC.
In yesterday's meeting of the US national security council, Trump and his advisors are reported to have discussed the possibility of striking Iran's nuclear sites. One potential target could be uranium enrichment site at Fordo which is deep underground.
In his first social media post since US President Donald Trump's threats of unconditional surrender, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a warning to Israel on X, saying, "The battle begins."
US President Donald Trump cuts short his visit to the G7 Summit in Canada to deal with the escalating situation in the Middle East. In the next couple of hours, Trump will have to take a call on what his next step will be, go for war or peace.
Trump, as is well known, is not a war monger. Throughout his election campaign, he called for Americans to get out of foreign wars. His MAGA base is on the same page as well.
This is why, when Trump left in a hurry, expectations were that a ceasefire deal might be in sight. More so as Saudi Arabia, Oman and other Gulf countries had been working the phones over the weekend to push for an end to air strikes and getting back to diplomacy and negotiation.
Citing Iranian media, Reuters reported that Israel is targeting the Khojir missile production facility near the Iranian capital in its latest strikes.
The facility is important to Iran's ballistic missile-related infrastructure and was targeted by Israel in its strikes on Iran last October.
Citing Iranian media, BBC reported that Israel has also targeted the Imam Hossein University on the eastern outskirts of Tehran. The university is understood to be affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
After his 'battle begins' post, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
also posted on his English X account that the `Zionists should be shown no mercy'.
“We must give a strong response to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show the Zionists no mercy,” Khamenei posted .
In response to Trumps warning and demand of `Unconditional surrender', Khamenei had posted his response saying ''In the name of the noble Haidar, the battle begins.''
Haidar is a name often used for Ali, who Shia Muslims consider the first Imam and successor to the Prophet Mohammed. Ali was also the Prophet's son-in-law, married to his eldest daughter, Fatima.
Iranian regime warned people to stop using WhatsApp, Telegram and other “location-based applications,” saying that they are some of Israel’s “main methods to identify and target individuals.”
However, WhatsApp responded, calling the claims false, and said they don't track users' precise location.
“We’re concerned these false reports will be an excuse for our services to be blocked at a time when people need them the most,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said
The spokesperson stressed that WhatsApp does not track users’ precise location and that all messages are end-to-end encrypted.
The foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates has called on the UN Security Council to take “urgent and necessary measures” to obtain a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed al-Nahyan also said that diplomacy is required to “prevent the situation from spiralling into grave and far-reaching consequences”.
He went on to warn that “reckless and miscalculated actions” could result in the conflict spilling beyond the borders of Israel and Iran, and called for urgent action to end hostilities “before the situation spirals out of control”.

"The 11th wave of the proud Operation Honest Promise 3 using Fattah-1 missiles" was carried out, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement broadcast on state television.

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for the Iran’s Foreign Ministry when asked if Iran is willing to engage in dialogue with the US, he said “diplomacy never ends”, but added that Tehran no longer trusts Washington.
He told Al Jazeera, "This war was imposed in the midst of a diplomatic process. We were supposed to be in Muscat on Sunday and they started this aggression early Friday – Iran has been all in for diplomacy and dialogue".
Iran does “not really” trust the US because “no one can imagine in our region, not only in Iran, that Israel started this war without prior green light by the by the United States,” Baghaei said.
“So I think what is at stake is the credibility of a country that is supposed to be a global power. What is at stake is the international law, international law that that has been almost annihilated for the past two years because of all of these atrocities that have been committed in occupied Palestine, in Lebanon, in Syria and elsewhere,” he added. “So I think the whole international community, in particular those who are members of the Security Council must shoulder their responsibility and act in order to stop this aggression.”
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for the Iran’s Foreign Ministry told Al Jazeera, “We have very good relations with Arab countries, and they are very cognizant of the fact that Israel has been trying to drag others into the war … We are sure our Arab countries hosting US bases would not allow their territory to be used against their Muslim neighbours,” he adds.
Under international law, no country has legal bases to allow a third party to use its territory against another country and “I trust that the understanding between Iran and our neighbouring countries would not allow any third party to abuse their territory”, he says.
The International Atomic Energy Agency says two centrifuge production facilities in Iran, a workshop in Karaj and the Tehran Research Center were hit.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei told the Iranian press that “(the US) should know that Iran will not surrender and any US strike will have serious irreparable consequences.”
He added that Iran would not accept an imposed peace or war.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the Iranian nation “is not one to surrender,” a day after US President Donald Trump called on the country to surrender unconditionally.
“Let the Americans know that the Iranian nation is not one to surrender, and any military intervention on their part will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage,” Khamenei said Wednesday in a national address – only his second public comments since Israel launched its attack against Iran last week.
“Those who are wise and familiar with Iran, its people, and its history never speak to this nation in the language of threats,” he warned.
After Trump on Tuesday said Khamenei was “an easy target” for the US and Israel, he then ramped up his demands on Truth Social: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
In his address, Khamenei said “the Americans should know that any military intervention by the United States will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage.”

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has praised Israel for doing the “dirty work for all for the world” by striking Iran and preventing it from building a nuclear weapon.
In an interview with Germany’s ZDF broadcaster on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada.
Merz said he was “grateful”.
“This is the dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us,” he said. “The (Iranian) regime has brought death and destruction to the world with attacks, with murder and manslaughter, with Hezbollah, with Hamas.”
Merz said attacks like the one launched by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, “would never have been possible” without the regime in Iran.
“I can only say I have the greatest respect for what the Israeli military and government has had the courage to do,” Merz said.
While Germany has always supported Israel owing to its history of the Holocaust.
Merz did, however, did criticise Israel last month, saying he was “dismayed by the fate of the civilian population” in Gaza.

Germany’s foreign minister has asked Iran’s leaders to make credible assurances that it is not seeking a nuclear weapon and to show it is willing to find a negotiated solution as fears mount of further military escalation between Iran and Israel.
“We are still ready to negotiate a solution. However, Iran must act urgently … it is never too late to come to the negotiating table if one comes with sincere intentions,” Johann Wadephul said at a news conference with his Jordanian counterpart.
Iran says it has zero trust in the US and its Western allies following Israel’s surprise attack last week, which came just days before the next round of nuclear negotiations was due to take place.

Iran's supreme leader on Wednesday rejected U.S. calls for surrender in the face of blistering Israeli strikes and warned that any military involvement by the Americans would cause “irreparable damage” to them.
Khamenei's speech came a day after U.S. President Donald Trump demanded “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” in a social media post and warned Khamenei that the U.S. knows where he is but has no plans to kill him, “at least not for now.”

Iran has denied Donald Trump’s claim that Iranian officials asked for a meeting at the White House.
“No Iranian official has ever asked to grovel at the gates of the White House. The only thing more despicable than his lies is his cowardly threat to ‘take out’ Iran’s Supreme Leader,” said the Iran mission to the UN on X.
The comment comes soon after Trump said Iranian officials had reached out to him for negotiations.
“Iran does NOT negotiate under duress, shall NOT accept peace under duress, and certainly NOT with a has-been warmonger clinging to relevance,” it said, echoing previous remarks from Ali Khamenei who said Iranians “do not answer well to the language of threat”.

“I can tell you this – Iran’s got a lot of trouble, and they want to negotiate. And I said, ‘Why didn’t you negotiate with me before – all this death and destruction?’ Why didn’t you negotiate? I said to the people, ‘Why didn’t you negotiate with me two weeks ago? You could have done fine. You would have had a country.'”

But this rivalry between Iran and Israel with the involvement of the United States is not new in history, it can be said as 'war in the making'.
The ties between Iran and Israel starts back in 1948 when West Asia was not open to accept Israel as a new country. But Iran under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was an exception after it became a close ally of the United States during the Cold War. Both Iran and Israel required help from US to stay afloat and the then Prime Minister of Israel David Ben Gurion in his aim to become allies with non-Arab countries became closer to Iran.
Iran’s Ministry of Communications has announced about temporarily limiting internet access to prevent “the enemy from threatening citizens’ lives and property” amid the ongoing war with Israel.
The announcement follows an earlier report from the London-based internet watchdog Netblocks stating that there was a “near-total national internet blackout”, Al Jazeera reported.
Iran's potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz is a threat that has re-emerged with force amid rising tensions, intensifying concerns across global markets and diplomatic circles.
The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow but strategically vital waterway that connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and ultimately to the Arabian Sea. It sits between Iran to the north and Oman and the United Arab Emirates to the south. In its narrowest segment, the strait spans only about 21 nautical miles across, but despite its size, it plays an outsized role in the global economy. Every day, a significant portion of the world’s oil supply—estimated at around 20% of all seaborne crude—passes through this route. The waterway is governed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea under the principle of “transit passage,” allowing ships of all nations to pass through it, even in territorial waters claimed by the coastal states.

Since Israel launched airstrikes against Iranian nuclear and military targets on June 13, 2025, triggering retaliatory Iranian missile strikes on Israeli cities, the international community—spanning Asian powers, Muslim-majority states, Europe, and the G7—has issued an array of statements. Iran has imposed nationwide temporary restrictions on internet access across the country, with the country’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology citing security concerns.

According to the statement, access to “public communication services and domestic platforms remains available, and efforts to maintain the quality of services” for people in Iran.

The human rights watchdog said that civilians are paying the price of escalating strikes between Israel and Iran.
“As the number of deaths and injuries continue to rise, Amnesty International is urging both parties to comply with their obligations and ensure that civilians in both countries do not further pay the price of reckless military action,” Agnes Callamard, secretary-general of Amnesty International, said in a statement.
“Further escalation of these hostilities risks unleashing devastating and far-reaching consequences for civilians across the region and beyond.”
