PM Modi told Vladimir Putin that “every single day spent in war pushes humanity back” and reiterated India’s support for all peace efforts over the Ukraine conflict.
Putin said India-Russia ties continued to strengthen as a “special and privileged partnership”, with bilateral trade turnover growing 2.6% in the first half of 2026.
The two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in areas including energy, innovation, space and fertilisers, while Putin is expected to visit India for the upcoming BRICS summit.
