PM Modi To Launch ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ On Sept 17 On His Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan 2025 on September 17, his 75th birthday, with a focus on strengthening healthcare services for women and children across the country. The nationwide initiative aims to expand access to quality healthcare, improve maternal and child health outcomes, and raise awareness about nutrition, early intervention, and preventive care.

Announcing the initiative on social media platform X, Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that as part of the campaign, over 75,000 health camps will be organised at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), and other public health facilities.

“These camps will deliver essential services tailored to meet the specific healthcare needs of women and children, advancing the government’s vision of inclusive and accessible healthcare,” Nadda stated.

In parallel, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will observe Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) across all Anganwadi Centres to promote awareness around maternal nutrition, child development, and family well-being. Officials said the dual initiatives aim to build a “healthier, more resilient India by addressing the foundational needs of families.”

Calling for greater private sector participation, Upasana Arora, Chair of FICCI’s Medical Value Travel Committee and MD of Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, urged hospitals and healthcare providers to join the Jan Bhagidaari (people’s participation) campaign.

“I appeal to all private healthcare stakeholders to actively support this Abhiyaan. With ‘India First’ as our guiding spirit, let us collectively work towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India),” she said.

“When women are healthy, families prosper, and societies thrive. This initiative is not just about healthcare—it is about building strong, inclusive communities,” she added.

Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Chair of FICCI Health Services Committee and Founder-Chairman of Mahajan Imaging, called the initiative a landmark step in placing women’s health at the heart of India’s development agenda.

“A healthy woman is the cornerstone of a healthy family—and by extension, a healthy nation. This programme will play a pivotal role in achieving the goals of Swasth Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” he said.

The BJP has announced a two-week-long Seva Pakhwara (Service Fortnight) from September 17 to October 2, to commemorate the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday. The fortnight will include a series of welfare activities, health drives, and public outreach programmes across the country, with a special emphasis on healthcare, sanitation, and social service.
