Aamir Khan's highly-anticipated film, Sitaare Zameen Par, arrived in theatres on June 20, 2025. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Several celebs hailed the film. Actor-comedian Vir Das is also all praise for Sitaare Zameen Par. He lauded the film for the storytelling, comedy and the performances.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Vir Das shared a poster of the film, and urged everyone to watch Sitaare Zameen Par, "not just because it's REALLY good and breezy. Not just because the ensemble wins your heart. Not just because it's someone of massive stature constantly sharing his platform for meaningful content. Not just because it's a departure from action overload (sic)."

He added, "But also because it's genuinely funny. In a comedy scene, one party has to hold power and drive. That's basic comedy 101. The best comedy surprises you with that choice. It wears its heart on its sleeve and gives power, prominence, and punch lines to those comedy normally doesn't. That makes it WAY funnier. Go see it! In theatres now (sic)."

He captioned the post, "Go see #sitaarezameenpar because it’s so funny in SUCH a new and good way."

An excerpt from Outlook India review of the film read: "Sitaare Zameen Par is undeniably a crowd-pleaser, yet it lacks the sustained ethos and wit needed to fully justify its storytelling. Amidst the team he seeks to uplift, Aamir remains a distinct presence—perhaps inevitably so for Aamir Khan Productions. Still, it is genuinely refreshing to witness neurodivergent actors inhabiting their roles with such effortless authenticity. In the end, alongside bringing brilliant actors to the forefront, Sitaare Zameen Par succeeds in making theatres both cry and laugh—and perhaps, that is its victory, and nothing more."

Directed by RS Prasanna, Aamir Khan's film had a decent opening at the box office.
