Uttar Pradesh has 89 centre labs and 211 government polytechnics which are linked with centres of excellence. During 2025–26 alone, 251 new smart classrooms were set up in the state’s polytechnics. These facilities aim to give students practical exposure to the technologies they study in books.

To meet the evolving demands of Industry 4.0, the technical education curricula in the state get updated regularly. As part of this push in technical education, new courses have been introduced in fields such as artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning, IoT, cybersecurity, drone technology, robotics, AR/VR, cloud computing, and mobile security.
