Asianxt Digital Technologies (“Asianxt”) has announced the appointment of Samarth Sharma as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing evolution and its next phase of strategic growth and digital transformation. In his new role, Sharma will be responsible for driving Asianxt’s expansion roadmap with a strong emphasis on content scale, direct-to-consumer (D2C) initiatives, and technology-led platform innovation. He will work closely with the leadership team to align business strategy, operational execution, and long-term growth objectives across the organization.

This appointment marks Sharma’s second stint at Asianxt, formerly known as Asianet News Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. During his earlier tenure, he spent nearly five years with the organization, playing a pivotal role in shaping and scaling its digital-first business. He initially joined the company as Chief Business Officer and later served as Chief Operating Officer, where he led multiple high-impact growth initiatives across content strategy, monetization, audience development, and platform innovation. His contributions were central to strengthening Asianxt’s digital capabilities during a period of rapid industry transformation.

During his previous association, Sharma was instrumental in expanding Asianetnews.com into a pan-India digital news platform, significantly strengthening its reach across languages, regions, and audience segments. Under his leadership, the platform expanded its presence beyond its core markets to serve a broader national audience, supported by a diversified content strategy and an increased focus on regional and vernacular content. The digital portfolio witnessed substantial growth in audience engagement, traffic scale, and revenue performance, driven by a robust monetization framework, strategic partnerships, and data-driven decision-making. His efforts helped establish a strong foundation for Asianxt’s multi-platform digital presence, enabling sustainable and scalable growth.

In his new role, Sharma will focus on accelerating Asianxt’s D2C transformation by strengthening its consumer-facing products and services. He will lead efforts to build scalable, future-ready technology platforms designed to cater to evolving digital consumption habits and changing audience expectations. In addition, Sharma will oversee content growth strategies aimed at expanding the company’s footprint across emerging formats such as short-form video, social-first storytelling, and creator-led ecosystems. A key priority will also be expanding Asianxt’s reach in regional and underserved markets, while enhancing user engagement and retention across platforms.

Sharma brings with him deep expertise in digital content, social media, and the rapidly evolving content creator economy. He is the co-founder of Sportskeeda, one of India’s leading sports content platforms, where he played a key role in building a global digital brand powered by community engagement, creator collaboration, and data-led content strategy. Beyond his entrepreneurial experience, Sharma has also held corporate roles at Deutsche Bank and TransUnion-CIBIL, equipping him with a strong blend of financial acumen, analytical rigor, and operational leadership.

Commenting on his appointment, Samarth Sharma said, “Asianxt is entering an important phase of growth and transformation. I look forward to leading a sharper transformation agenda focused on scale, innovation, and long-term value creation, while building a stronger, more integrated digital ecosystem across languages, formats, and geographies.”

Welcoming Sharma back to the organization, Neeraj Kohli, CEO of Asianxt, said, “Samarth combines clarity of vision with strong execution capabilities. During his prior stint, he played a key role in scaling Asianetnews.com to pan-India audiences, along with driving rapid monetization growth. I am pleased to welcome him back as we accelerate our D2C growth agenda and continue to strengthen our digital platforms.”

With this appointment, Asianxt aims to further consolidate its position as a leading digital media and technology company, leveraging innovation, content excellence, and consumer-centric strategies to drive sustainable, long-term growth in an increasingly competitive digital landscape.
