Why does the VHP keep saying "Mandir waheen banayenge" when court verdict is awaited?

Mandir at the Ram Janma Bhoomi is the mission of the Hindu society and we are the soldiers of this society. Yuddha morcha ka samay hum taye karenge (We will decide when to raise the battle bugle). Date, time, type and form of the battle, we will decide. Birth place of anyone is non-transferable.

The successive governments have said that it would abide by the court verdict...

We won't give an extended time period. Court will have to take cognizance of people's emotions. Everyone should remember that Justice Raza of the three-member bench of the High Court had reserved his judgment. His view was to come on December 12, 1992. But the disputed structure came down on December 6. Therefore, people's emotions have to be taken into account. Situation is already quite charged up.

It is not a property dispute between two individuals. This is a fight for Ram's birth place...this is a struggle for Ram's birth place. 

August 15 is celebrated for political independence. Jawaharlal Nehru started the cultural independence by removing all statues of Victoria from every corner of the country. Indira Gandhi named the connecting roads to all cities to Mahatma Gandhi. Arvind Kejriwal appreciated changing of the Auranzeb road to APJ Abdul Kalam road. Fight for Ram's birth place is the process of the same cultural independence.

This is a way of polarisation...

Polarisation is a political word. What we are doing is social consolidation; it is an effort towards oneness in the society.

Sadhus of Benaras who were protesting against the lathicharge of a fellow sadhu clashed with the police on October 5. Sadhus are normally not so violent?

The sadhu should not have been lathicharged in the first place in such a manner. The District Magistrate had to go backfoot. Their protest was natural. This is our work to create pressure. Our efforts of social consolidation are working and can be seen on the surface. This is the reason such massive number of sadhus came together on the ghats of Benaras to protest against the lathicharge.
