BJP’s Chairman for the 2014 Election Campaign Committee Narendra Modi has decided to take the bull by the horns and has initiated work on his party’s National Vision Document for minorities.
Insiders say that while work on the document has been entrusted to a handpicked team which will bring it into public domain well in time for the 2014 polls an overarching strategy is being worked out to unleash a campaign on the internet highlighting the achievements of the Modi government in bettering the lives of Muslims in Gujarat.
Gujarat BJP’s prominent Muslim leader, Asifa Khan, who is working at the ground level and is a staunch believer herself that the condition of the minorities in Gujarat has improved under Modi, says that she is compiling statistics to prove the point at every level.
“Whether it is RTO records to show vehicle ownership or revenue records to display land ownership, we are compiling statistics to prove our point,” Khan said.
“Muslims in Gujarat have realized how the current regime has been beneficial for them and have voted in large number for BJP,” Asifa pointed out.
“Compare the data of Muslims in Bihar or UP, with that of Muslims in Gujarat and the truth becomes self-evident,” she said .
True to Modi’s style , the BJP vision document for minorities will focus on the political exploitation of the community by the so called “secular” parties.
“We shall present a cogent case on why the community needs to join the mainstream and not be held ransom to vote bank politics,” a senior Gujarat BJP leader said, giving enough hint that this document would be part of the ammunition to be extensively used during the the campaign.
