On Monday, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of at least 5.8 struck Crete, sending people rushing into the streets, damaging homes and causing rockslides. One person was killed in the quake.
Saturday’s earthquake also left at least 5,700 people injured in the Caribbean nation, with thousands more displaced from their destroyed or damaged homes.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center listed the magnitude as 8.1 and said that an investigation is underway to determine if there is a tsunami threat to Hawaii
