The shift in venue comes as a part of the decision for all the quarter-final ties set to be five-day contests, starting from February 8-12.

"Yes, we have received a communication from BCCI that our quarterfinal against Haryana will be played at the Eden Gardens," Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Ajinkya Naik told PTI on Wednesday.

Why did BCCI change the venue of Ranji Trophy match?

Although no reason has been given for the change of venue, it is learnt that receding winter in the northern region could pose challenges like morning fog at Lahli and affect the proceedings.

Speaking of Mumbai, they will have a star-studded line-up including T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur and captain Ajinkya Rahane.

Haryana's Ranji cricket team will be led by seam-bowler Anshul Kamboj, who has made giant strides in domestic cricket.
