Former Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch Parkash Singh Badal died on Tuesday. He was 95. He served as the Chief Minister of Punjab five times and was a veteral of state politics who contested assembly election 13 times and lost only twice. Leaders from across the spectrum condoled his death, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
