A clash between two groups in Khajuripokhari village, situated within the jurisdiction of Bari Ramachandrapur police station, took a perilous turn when a crude bomb was thrown, resulting in at least six individuals sustaining injuries, with one in critical condition. The incident unfolded on Sunday night, stemming from a quarrel over an ongoing road construction project.

Local law enforcement officials reported that tensions escalated as members of the two groups engaged in a physical altercation. The dispute centered around differing perspectives on the road construction, ultimately leading to a violent confrontation. During the altercation, individuals from one of the groups allegedly hurled a crude bomb before making their escape from the scene, as reported by PTI.

The explosion from the crude bomb left six people injured, prompting swift community response. Bystanders immediately rushed the injured individuals to the nearby Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical attention. Notably, one victim's injuries were deemed critical, necessitating a transfer to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital for specialized care.

In the aftermath of the clash, both groups filed formal complaints with the local police, initiating an ongoing investigation into the incident. As a precautionary measure, some male residents of Khajuripokhari village have reportedly fled, apprehensive of potential police actions.

To address the escalating situation, law enforcement agencies have established police pickets in the area, maintaining a vigilant presence to prevent further disruptions.
